(ANTARA News) – renewable energy program for the Indonesian people are now started to be developed to reduce the electrical energy capacity charged to PLN. Professor of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Ten November Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, Prof.. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, MEng, PhD, at Surabaya, Monday, said the renewable energy program is the utilization of solar and wind energy are modified by such converters into electrical energy that can be sold to the local PLN. “So the public will not be the cost to buy electricity, but just to get additional revenue by selling energy obtained in each individual house,” he said.
He added, the converter is installed in each house to accommodate residents energies obtained from the wind and sun. Of course, for the installation location is the best converter in the coastal areas due to high wind intensity and towns to find the sun very much. Meanwhile, for the realization of the first will be carried out by a prototype development laboratory used in ITS Electrical Engineering. “We’re still trying a way to build a prototype tool, but with a voltage below 1000 watts. If this is successful then we will apply to the community,” he said. He also added to the current construction project currently has no agreement with the relevant PLN distribution so expect the community can also apply. Prof.Ir. Mochamad Ashari, MEng, PhD, is one of the great teachers of ITS which will be confirmed on November 2, later, two other professors who also will be confirmed later on Wednesday was Prof.. Bagus Jaya Santoso, Dr of Physics and Prof. majors. Dr.Ir. Adi Soeprijanto, M.T. of electrical engineering Faculty of Industrial Engineering ITS.
