Health Tips : Smoking and Diabetes ?

Smoking is dangerous for everyone, especially for people with diabetes, which is basically already at risk of complications such as cardiovascular disease.
If you are people with diabetes is also a smoker, no matter how long, you can improve health by quitting smoking. According to the American Diabetes Association (the American Diabetes Association), the following is a potential danger for people with diabetes who smoke:
Smoking reduces the oxygen levels in tissues that can cause a heart attack or stroke
Smoking increases cholesterol levels and blood pressure increases the risk of heart attack
Smoking narrows blood vessels and damage that exacerbate foot ulcers
Smoking increases the risk of nerve damage and kidney
Smoking increases the risk of colds and other respiratory diseases
Smoking increases blood sugar levels
Smoking increases the risk of death from cardiovascular disease up to 3 times compared with diabetics who did not smoke.

A lot of people don’t understand that the main culprit of stroke is not just the food you eat but also the hazardous habits such as smoking. There needs to be more awareness in informing people to quit smoking. We have the potential to live a much longer live.
